The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a ten day to two week program combining a mixture of training in the pool and classroom. With academic modules presented by yourself. The course is split into two sections:

Once you have successfully completed the IDC (AI and OWSI) you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

PADI IDC Special Packages
The four packages listed below include the PADI Instructor Development Course.
During the IDC, you'll learn to use and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs. Comprehensive training, supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials, earns PADI Instructors respect from both students and peers.
You will learn how to teach in the classroom, pool and open water environments, you will also learn how to effectively use all PADI's teaching and support materials.
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.

You will also experience intership assisting on courses after the IDC with experienced instructors. You will have the chance to certify at least 25 divers!
Prerequisites:
PADI Divemaster or be an instructor in good standing with another training organisation for at least six months.
Hold a dive certification for at least six months.
Have 100 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives.
Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.
Medical clearance signed by a physician.
Once you have successfully completed the AI and OWSI you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) course for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

IDC - Koh Tao - PADI Instructor Examination
After completion of the IDC or OWSI, you must successfully complete the PADI Instructor Examination.
The PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is conducted by staff members of PADI International, and not by Mark your course director.
Duration: It takes approximately 2 days to complete.

If you do not pass your first PADI IE Mark will provide a second IDC free of charge and pay for your second PADI IE!
Once you have completed the IE and you are successful you will become a PADI OWSI.

Mark's Advice on how you can prepare for your IDC
- Make sure you keep your divemaster theory up to date
- Complete all knowledge reviews in the candiate workbook before the IDC

- Three passport size photos are required for the course
