IDC Pattaya
IDC's Pattaya can be taught in a multitude of languages. The IDC Pattaya programs take place seven to ten times a year at a PADI Five Star Career Development Center (CDC) located in Jomtien Beach (2 hours from Bangkok).
The new facility is complete with a brand new computerized classroom, and a 19 meter by 5-meter dedicated training pool.
The center is also located within easy sailing distance of three major steel shipwrecks, the Hardeep, the HTMS Khram and the Petchburi Bremen , as well as numerous coral sites. The diving in Pattaya is consistent all year round, with 5-15 meters visibility. It is an ideal place for PADI IDC training.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a ten day to two week program combining a mixture of training in the pool and classroom. With academic modules presented by yourself. The course is split into two sections:

Once you have successfully completed the IDC (AI and OWSI) you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

PADI Instructor Development Course
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI IDC.
The IDC consists of the Assistant Instructor Course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course.
AI course completion also qualifies candidates to participate in an OWSI program.
After completion AI's are qualified to teach the classroom portion of all PADI courses and some in water teaching.
During the IDC, you'll learn to use and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs.
You will learn how to teach in the classroom, pool and open water environments.
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.
Prerequisites:
PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives.
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months.
Have proof of CPR/First aid training within the last 24 months.
Have proof of a Medical examination within the last 12 months.
Duration: 9 days to complete
Once you have successfully completed the AI and OWSI you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) course for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

PADI IDC Special Packages
The five packages listed below include the PADI Instructor Development Course.
You will learn how to teach in the classroom, pool and open water environments, you will also learn how to effectively use all PADI's teaching and support materials.
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.
Package J: Silver Package
IDC prep course, a full IDC and Emergency First Response Instructor.
Prerequisites:
PADI Assistant Instructor certification or be an instructor in good standing with another training organisation for at least six months.
Hold a dive certification for at least six months.
Have 100 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives.
Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.
Medical clearance signed by a physician.
Once you have successfully completed the AI and OWSI you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) course for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

IDC Pattaya - PADI Instructor Examination
After completion of the IDC or OWSI, you must successfully complete the PADI Instructor Examination.
The PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is conducted by staff members of PADI International, and not by Stephen your course director.
Duration: It takes approximately 2 days to complete.

Advice on how you can prepare for your IDC
- Make sure you keep your divemaster theory up to date
- Complete all knowledge reviews in the candiate workbook before the IDC
